Mid-Maine Technical Center is seeking to fill an immediate opening(s) for the following:

EMT-BASIC INSTRUCTOR -- FIREFIGHTING INSTRUCTOR

Candidates may apply for both posts as a full-time, Emergency Services Instructor position or for a half-time position for one class or the other. Classes are held each school day (183 days per year) during 145-minute class blocks. Salary and benefits are according to the Waterville Public Schools Teacher Contract, available online at:   http://www.aos92.org/our-district/aos-92-contracts.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Teaching high school students in a comprehensive Emergency Medical Technician (EMT Basic) and/or Fire Fighter I course, using State approved standards/curriculum.

• Establishing and maintaining professional, collaborative relationships with community agencies including Ambulance and Fire Services, state training organizations, and colleges.


EMT- Basic Qualifications
• Current Licensed Provider
• Current Maine EMS Instructor Coordinator or equivalent
• Related Work Experience preferred
Hours:  7:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Firefighting Qualifications
• Firefighter I and II Certified
• Current Firefighter Instructor – Level 1 or equivalent
• Related Work Experience preferred
Hours:  11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Mid-Maine Technical Center is a regional, technical high school serving Lawrence, Messalonskee, Waterville, and Winslow high schools. Located on the campus of Waterville Senior High School, Mid-Maine Technical Center offers twenty-four technical courses to area high school students.

·         Provide academic and remedial support for Automotive Collision Repair, Automotive Technology and Culinary Arts programs

·         Assist with the implementation of IEP accommodations and other modifications

·         Assist with the supervision of students during applied learning activities

·         Assist the Student Services Coordinator with student organizations, special events, and substitute teacher orientation

·         Participate in all staff meetings, in-service training, and professional development as assigned

·         Serve as a role model for students by maintaining high standards of professional behavior
