EDUCATIONAL TECHNICIAN III: Preschool Coordinator

Anticipated Opening

 

Mid-Maine Technical Center is a regional, technical high school serving students from Lawrence, Messalonskee, Waterville, and Winslow High Schools. Our Educational Technicians are critical members of the MMTC Instructional Staff.  In addition to their regular duties, the Preschool Coordinator will assist the Early Childhood Education Instructor with the operation of the MMTC Preschool.

 The Ed Tech Position

·         School year position (183 days, including in-service days)

·         35 hours per week

Primary Responsibilities

·         Provide academic and remedial support for high school students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program.

·         Assist with the implementation of IEP accommodations and other modifications.

·         Assist with the supervision of students during applied learning activities.

·         Coordinate the marketing, awareness activities, and registration process for the MMTC Preschool

·         Assist high school students with the development and implementation of age-appropriate programming

·         Assist with the supervision of high school students during applied learning activities

·         Participate in all staff meetings, in-service training, and professional development as assigned

·         Serve as a role model for students by maintaining high standards of professional behavior

 

Qualifications

·         Certified or certifiable as a Level III Educational Technician through the Maine Department of Education

·         Education and work experience in Early Childhood Education

·         Strong written, interpersonal, and organizational skills

·         Strong initiative and willingness to work independently

·         Able to work and communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and visitors

·         Cooperative, patient, and respectful of the beliefs, opinions, and confidentiality of others

·         Experience in Career and Technical Education and related technical fields preferred

Academic Student Coordinator

Description:

 Part-time position (average 15 hours per week) for an energetic, compassionate, and motivated person to enroll and advise students in the Mid-Maine Regional Adult Community Education programs.

 Primary Responsibilities include:

 Counsel students regarding academic choices based on personal/educational goals, assessment results, and background information.

  • Provide information to current and prospective students about adult education program options.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and academic counseling for students while enrolled at MMRACE.
  • Complete required forms for data entry purposes.
  • Assist Director with state reports.
  • Administer assessments as needed.
  • Communicate with instructors regarding the placement of students with special needs.
  • Communicate/consult with other educational institutions to acquire academic records and information that will assist with student placement and success.
  • Assist Director with program planning based on student needs.
  • Provide referral information to students as needed.

 Reports to:

                Adult Education Director

 Qualifications:

 Required:

1.       Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in relevant field;

2.       MDOE Adult Education Teaching endorsement in at least one subject area (Adult 100, 200, 300, 350 or 395) or equivalent experience

Additional Skills Preferred:

1.       Excellent interpersonal skills

2.       Strong oral and written communication skills;

3.       Demonstrated ability in working with adults;

4.       Knowledge of the philosophy and programming of adult education;

5.       Working knowledge of curriculum, professional development and assessment;

6.       Working knowledge of area social services agencies and student support resources;

8.       Excellent organizational skills;

          Waterville Public Schools is seeking an Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) with a current Maine Licensure, who will provide appropriate services to students with special needs to maximize independent function in the school setting.  All school employees are required to have CHRC (fingerprint) Certification
            This position is a contracted position for 13 hours per week.  The candidate will participate as a member of the IEP team meeting process, plan interventions, assess students needs and skills, and provide both direct and consultation services as required. In addition, the individual will provide information and consult with school personnel in support of students with disabilities for inclusion and programming purposes.  This position serves students in grades K-12.  A supervising physical therapist is onsite.
