Maintenance Position

Full Time Maintenance Position

QUALIFICATIONS:   *High school graduate or equivalent.

                                    *Physically able to perform required responsibilities.

*Demonstrate desirable working relations, work habits and personal hygiene.

*Willing to work overtime as required.

                   

JOB GOAL:  To create a safe and healthy environment for staff, students and the general public.


 PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ability to read, reason, and understand policies, procedures and related information and to follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.

 2.        Physical ability to perform all necessary upper and lower body movements.

 3.        Ability to talk, hear, see, smell, speak, correctly perceive.

 4.        Ability to use electrical hand tools and construction equipment.

 5.        Ability to lift and carry at least 70 pounds and to climb heights up to 20 feet on a ladder and stand for a ½ hour.

 6.        Complete required training.

 7.        Demonstrates acceptable interpersonal skills and working relations with co-workers, staff, students and general public.

 8.        Perform assigned tasks associated with snow removal, sanding and grounds program.

 9.        Perform assigned tasks associated with the maintenance of school facilities.

 10.     Examine school facilities and grounds on a regular basis for needed repairs and maintenance. 

 11.     Has understanding of construction, and is experienced in carpentry, basic electricity, and plumbing.

 12.     Properly utilize and care for assigned equipment and supplies.

13     Maintain and repair assigned equipment. 

14.        Check fire alarm systems, emergency lighting systems, and mechanical systems.

 15.     Prepare and submit reports as required.

 16.     Has general knowledge and understanding of OSHA requirements.

 17.      Perform additional tasks as directed.
