Preference will be given to those that hold a Maine Dept. of Education State Certification - grades 6-12 (282) or able to obtain certification.
Preference will be given to those with knowledge of special education paperwork and procedures, experience with differentiated instruction, ability to work as part of a group, experience with various high school curricula, strong organizational skills, and the ability to use technology for hybrid/remote learning.
The successful candidate will teach in a resource room serving 25-30 students (grades 9-12).

                                Waterville High School 
Applicants must possess a combination of strong communication, clinical and organizational skills, with ability to interface effectively with all staff, students, and parents/legal guardians.  The qualified applicant will:

Possess strong leadership skills including leadership among educational staff and parents.
Oversee daily caseload of students including day treatment program, crisis intervention, individual counseling, group counseling and family counseling.
Facilitate  team meetings regarding students with teachers, parents/legal guardians, and Administrators.
Facilitate classroom presentations regarding topics in mental health in collaboration with the school leadership team.
Have experience with the MaineCare Section 28 and 65 Programs including documentation, supervision, and clinical paperwork.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
LCSW, LCPC, LMSWcc OR LCPCc Licensure required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Master's Degree in Social Work or related field.

The qualifications needed to substitute for a school nurse are a current RN license in the State of Maine, current CPR certification and a criminal history record check approval. 

     Recommended additional qualifications:  

  • Knowledge of child and adolescent growth and development
  • Knowledge of nursing care for children and adolescents
  • An understanding of school health policies and procedures
  • Competency in emergency care
  • Familiarity with community health resources
  • Desire to work with children/adolescents
  • Recent practice as a registered nurse.
