Preference will be given to candidates who have had elementary school library experience and experience using Destiny Library Manager.  Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:
      Direct and organize services essential to the elementary library program, provide library skills instruction, supervise students in the library, assist students and staff with acquiring reading materials and informational resources, acquire informational sources to support the curriculum, perform cataloging and classification duties, keep abreast of current literature by reviewing journals and other resources, maintain inventories, as well as assist with assigned school duties.

CULINARY ARTS INSTRUCTOR

Start Date: Monday, August 24, 2020

Mid-Maine Technical Center is a regional, technical high school serving 11th and 12th grade students from Lawrence, Messalonskee, Waterville, and Winslow High Schools as well as private, charter, and home-schooled students from our sending districts. MMTC offers twenty-four technical courses that prepare students for post-secondary education and employment by providing instruction and practical experiences through industry-recognized curricula.

 CULINARY ARTS INSTRUCTOR POSITION SUMMARY

 Primary responsibilities include:

  • Implementing a series of lessons and applied learning activities based on the American Culinary Federation (ACF) that emphasize student skill development and safety. 
  • Establishing a classroom environment that promotes student achievement, aspirations, and respectful, responsible student behavior.

·         Developing and maintaining professional, collaborative relationships with community partners including local industry, state and industry training organizations, and colleges.

  • Maintaining professional teaching certification through the Department of Education.
  • Participating in program-specific and school-wide committee work related to accreditation including, but not limited to Comprehensive School Review, Safety & Health Award for Public Employers, and ACF.

 Qualifications:

  • Relevant work experience, education, training, and industry credentials.

·         Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with colleagues, students, families, and community partners.

·         Professional, cooperative, and respectful of the beliefs, opinions, and confidentiality of others.
