CULINARY ARTS INSTRUCTOR

Start Date: Monday, August 24, 2020

Mid-Maine Technical Center is a regional, technical high school serving 11th and 12th grade students from Lawrence, Messalonskee, Waterville, and Winslow High Schools as well as private, charter, and home-schooled students from our sending districts. MMTC offers twenty-four technical courses that prepare students for post-secondary education and employment by providing instruction and practical experiences through industry-recognized curricula.

 CULINARY ARTS INSTRUCTOR POSITION SUMMARY

 Primary responsibilities include:

  • Implementing a series of lessons and applied learning activities based on the American Culinary Federation (ACF) that emphasize student skill development and safety. 
  • Establishing a classroom environment that promotes student achievement, aspirations, and respectful, responsible student behavior.

·         Developing and maintaining professional, collaborative relationships with community partners including local industry, state and industry training organizations, and colleges.

  • Maintaining professional teaching certification through the Department of Education.
  • Participating in program-specific and school-wide committee work related to accreditation including, but not limited to Comprehensive School Review, Safety & Health Award for Public Employers, and ACF.

 Qualifications:

  • Relevant work experience, education, training, and industry credentials.

·         Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with colleagues, students, families, and community partners.

·         Professional, cooperative, and respectful of the beliefs, opinions, and confidentiality of others.
