Applicants must possess a combination of strong communication, counseling and organizational skills, with ability to interface effectively with all staff, students, and parents/legal guardians. 

 Preference will be given to candidates that:

  • Possess strong leadership skills including leadership among educational staff and parents.
  • Develop, assess, and implement comprehensive school counseling programs.
  • Oversee daily caseload of students including day treatment program, crisis intervention, individual counseling, group counseling and family counseling.
  • Facilitate  team meetings regarding students with teachers, parents/legal guardians, and Administrators.
  • Facilitate classroom presentations regarding topics in mental health in collaboration with the school Administrative team.
  • Provide leadership in the areas of Response to Intervention (RTI) planning and Trauma-Informed Schools.
  • Provide crisis intervention services including assessing for safety.
  • Participate in planning and review of building Crisis Response Team.
  • Participate in Special Education Individual Education Plan Meetings as assigned.
  • Provide trainings and workshops for teachers, school staff and parents on topics related to student, family and staff Mental Health and Wellness, as well as any state mandated school personnel trainings.
  • Have experience with the MaineCare Section 28 and 65 Programs including documentation, supervision, and clinical paperwork.
  • Certified as a Clinical Social Worker or working towards that certification.

Master's Degree in Social Work or related field.  LCSW, LCPC, LMSWcc OR LCPCc REQUIRED.
