Immediate Opening

Mid-Maine Technical Center is a regional, technical high school serving 11th and 12th grade students from Lawrence, Messalonskee, Waterville, and Winslow High Schools as well as private, charter, and home-schooled students from our sending districts. MMTC offers twenty-four technical courses that prepare students for post-secondary education and employment by providing instruction and practical experiences through industry-recognized curricula.

 The Instructor Position

·         School year position (183 days, including in-service days)

·         35 hours per week

 Primary Responsibilities

  • Implementing a series of lessons and applied learning activities based on the state standards for EMT-Basic and Fire Fighter I and that emphasize student skill development and safety. 
  • Establishing a classroom environment that promotes student achievement, aspirations, and respectful, responsible student behavior.

·         Developing and maintaining professional, collaborative relationships with community partners including local industry, state and industry training organizations, and colleges.

  • Maintaining professional teaching certification through the Department of Education.
  • Participating in program-specific and school-wide committee work related to accreditation including, but not limited to Comprehensive School Review and the Safety & Health Award for Public Employers.


·         Relevant education, credentials, and work experience

·         Strong written, interpersonal, and organizational skills

·         Strong initiative and willingness to work independently

·         Able to work and communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and visitors

·         Cooperative, patient, and respectful of the beliefs, opinions, and confidentiality of others

·         Experience in Career and Technical Education and related technical fields preferred
