QUALIFICATION:     Special Education Certification

REPORTS TO:          Director of Special Services/Assistant Directors of Special Services

 JOB GOAL:               To provide support and guidance to special education staff through the IEP process and consultation

  PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Director & Assistant Directors of Special Services, the duties will include, but not be limited to, the following guidelines:

 1.    Collaborate with special education case managers and school staff;

2.    Have proficient knowledge of IEP and RTI processes;

3.    Possess strong organizational and time management skills;

4.    Serve as the lead contact for case managers and staff regarding current issues in special education

5.    Oversee follow-up paperwork in collaboration with case managers to ensure compliance of state and federal mandates;

6.    Monitor case manager compliance for IEP’s, evaluations, and paperwork timelines;

7.    Attend and serve as designated administrator for annual and triennial IEP meetings (shared with administration) and others as assigned by directors;

8.    Write and draft written notices to be reviewed and submitted by the case managers, obtain consents and releases to maintain compliant special education records for meetings attended;

9.    Knowledge of proficiency based education and experience writing IEP goals related to targeted standards;

10.  Assist with scheduling of IEP meetings in collaboration with secretarial staff at their grade level span (K-5 or 6-12);

11.  Consult on a regular basis with Director and Assistant Directors for Special Services;

12.  Other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Assistant Directors of Special Services

  TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

Salary and work year as determined by Teachers’ Contract

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Supervision and Evaluation of Employees.
